Microsoft officially announces Xbox Live for iOS and Android

Microsoft will offer mobile developers all the tools they need to use their platform. The publisher will reach a much larger market than the home console, with hundreds of millions of active users.

This time, it's official ! Microsoft will soon launch an Xbox Live application for iOS and Android mobile platforms, which will offer the same services available to console players.

All the services of Xbox Live adapted to smartphones

In addition to enjoying online gaming, users will be able to access e-mail options, Xbox successes to reward their progress, Microsoft account login and cloud backups
Mobile game developers will benefit from tools to integrate Xbox Live into their mobile titles. Previously, only games developed internally could benefit from a gateway with the online services of the publisher.

Microsoft prepares for the future, beyond the console market

This announcement launches Microsoft's strategy for the next generation of consoles.
First, by attacking the mobile market , Microsoft can expect to reach millions of additional players who prefer small on-the-go experiences to big console games. The number of Xbox Live users could explode, like subscription- related revenue
Also, Microsoft is actively preparing the launch of xCloud , its game streaming service that will be accessible to smartphones and tablets. In addition to Xbox Live, the publisher will offer a complete offer, which extends well beyond the simple game console .
A persistent rumor wanted Microsoft to also adapt Xbox Live to the Nintendo Switch . For now, the manufacturer has no comment to make on the subject, indicating simply that the mission of the company is to provide the best tools to companies who wish.
