CNET magazine tested the robustness of the Samsung Galaxy S10 + in both standard and ceramic finishes.
VS back glass back in ceramic
The Samsung Galaxy S10 + is offered in classic finish (with a glass back ), but also with (optional) a ceramic back , advertised as more resistant. A finish that requires to add all the same not less than 250 euros to the initial invoice (1009 euros). On the CNET side, we obviously wanted to compare the two types of smartphones, which were faced with various falls, as is the case (sometimes daily) for many smartphones.
The ceramic back of the Galaxy S10 + will not prevent its screen from shattering ...
In this little game, it is the Samsung Galax S10 + which showed better signs of resistance, with a back (almost) intact after six falls. Note however that the screen, for its part, burst after a fall of 1.5 meters in height. On the side of the "standard" model, it is the back of the smartphone that burst after the same drop of 1.5 meters, including the glass covering the three photo sensors.
In short, according to CNET , " a stronger back does not guarantee a stronger screen ". The magazine indicates that despite the robustness of the ceramic finish, it is necessary to protect its Galaxy S10 + with a shell, and leave the protective film on the screen.
The best is still to avoid as much as possible to drop his smartphone obviously ...
