Intel: latest drivers reveal 13 Gen11 GPU variants

The latest version of the Intel Graphics drivers, which introducedIntel's revamped control panel , leaks information about the new "Gen11" iGPU architecture, still in development at the firm's California offices. We learn that this famous Gen11 could be declined in no less than 13 variants.

According to TechPowerUp , Intel'sGen11 iGPUs must be integrated by default with the Ice Lake and Lakefield generation processors. They could also happen on some Intel low-power SoC, like Pentium Silver or Celeron. Finally, chips based on the Elkhart Lake architecture could also benefit. Information that tends to becorroborated by codecontained in the latest Intel Graphics drivers.

Not surprisingly, Intel plans to deploy its Gen11 on a maximum of chip

The 13 variants of Intel's Gen11 architecture are categorized according to their power consumption. The most powerful variants (and incidentally the most demanding in watts) will logically be integrated into the Ice Lake processors, which remain the least restricted in terms of power management.
Several "ranges" of iGPUs Gen11 are therefore emerging. We first find the Gen11 "Iris Plus" chips. These are the best-performing declensions, which are divided into four categories : the Iris Plus Graphics 950 (which should be found on Intel's future Core i9 and i7 Ice Lake), 940 (slightly less swift and presumably for i5), 930 (for next-generation Core i3s) and finally 920 (that TechPowerUp rather destines to Pentium Gold).

Variations of Gen11 architecture thoughts for low-power chips

Then come low-power LP variants of these Gen11 iGPUs. Largely castrated, they are also available in several subcategories and logically arrive on the SoC (Pentium Silver and Celeron) designed for entry-level or ChromeBooks, for example.
Finally, Intel's next low-power SoC, under Elkhart Lake architecture, would benefit from four iGPU Gen11 models . These four models would themselves be based on two distinct variants, different in size: the GT1 and GT2, which are also greatly diminished in relation to the models mentioned above.
